Bassoon: Alison Brierley
After graduating from the Birmingham Conservatoire Alison has remained in Birmingham working as a freelance musician and instrumental tutor.

She performs regularly with orchestras in the Midlands and occasionally strays as far a field as the Manchester Camerata.  Alison also enjoys working in the theatre and her experience includes the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon.  Alison is particularly fond of chamber music and plays with a variety of wing ensembles playing an extensive range of music from sublime harmonie music to frequently ridiculous bassoon (and contra-bassoon!) quartets with ‘A Good Reed’ who regularly appear at the Buxton Festival.

With all her performing and teaching commitments Alison has very little spare time for other pursuits but she unwinds with a good book and fine food!
